It simply means exiting the village together…

Yes.. That is the latest happening at my second home where I spent most of my time on weekdays. I am now joining the ‘dinosaurs‘ club. Yeah.. we are the dinosaurs since we had been staying in our ‘beloved’ second home for more than 2 years *applause*. Am having mixed feeling though, sad since more friends are leaving but happy for them as they are going to better place. Will DEFINITELY miss them!! :(

Wishing everyone the best and GBU! :o)

Exotic Hanoi

Wednesday, March 22nd, 2006

My worries for my trip to Hanoi had no ground at all!! I enjoyed my trip to Hanoi and cannot wait to visit that city again to explore to other places, such as the famous Halong Bay as well as visiting the Sapa tribe.

The host was excellent! From the Vice Minister to Director General to the Officials and even to the chaffeur are all very kind to me. In addition, I met some new friends in Hanoi as well. Overall my trip was great! I am very impressed with their hospitality. As a foreigner in a country that hardly knows English, I was worried in certain times especially when I needed to bargain for transport and to eat. I was all alone in the heart of Hanoi but I know that God is taking care of me. I went there at the right timing after rain was pouring Hanoi for the past week. I had great host and met the right people at the right time at the right place. They ultimately become my new friends and they extend invitation to be guide if I or my friends visit Hanoi again. Thank you :o)

Similarly like Jakarta, the main transportation is motorbike. The unique thing is  19_mar_06_motorbike_is_the_main_transporthey do not wear helmet and there were very few traffic lights. However, unlike Jakarta, the Vietnamese bikers do not speed in the city area and also the pollution there is much lesser than Jakarta. May be the trees surrounding the Lake helps to absorb the pollution. But Jakarta definitely can beat Hanoi in terms of number of cars :o)

During my free time on Sunday evening and half a day on Tuesday, I managed to visit the Temple of Literature that was built in 1070 AD by Emperor Ly Thanh Tong as dedication to Confucius, walking around the famous Hoan Kiem Lake   (lake of the restored sword) and not forgetting to cross the famous Huc Bridge to visit the island in the nor21_mar_06_hoan_kiem_lake_the_huc_bridge__2thern end of the lake where the Ngoc Son sits. This lake is symbol of Hanoi and a MUST go place. Also watched the famous water puppetry (Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre) on my last evening in Hanoi. Not forgetting shopped at Dong Xuan market and the Dong Xuan night market on my first night. I am quite amazed myself that I managed to visit many places within less than a day. Thanking God for everything. However, there are still many places nearby Hanoi that I wanna explore! Cannot wait to go for another holiday there… Anyone wanna sponsor me?!?!? Huhuhu…. :o)

Hanoi, here I come..

Saturday, March 18th, 2006

Finally my dream to go Hanoi is materialised. I have been wanting to go Hanoi since last year but have not found the time yet. The best part is… my trip is paid for!! But I will only have one day free time there. Thanking God for the chance and opportunity. Also this time I have chance to take a full fledge airlines. After so many flights between Singapore-Jakarta were terminated, I have been a loyal customer of budget airlines :o).

But… wait wait wait. Who paid for me?? My fans?? Hahaha… Of course not!! I have not finished my story, my friend.. The other part is that.. I am attending a one-day workshop in Hanoi and I also have to do a presentation during the workshop… So stressful!!! It is stressful especially because I was informed so last minute (read: less than a week). Six days before the workshop I was informed and I had to come out with the presentation within 3 days since the organizer needs to translate the materials. Also a few things came up in the office at the same time. I am lucky to have friends who give my courage and willing to extend their listening ears. Thanks a lot, my friends. Your encouragement has taken away most of my burden and worries. Do pray for me for the ‘Day’, k!

I will share stories and pics about Hanoi once I am back. Also will bring some goddies for you as well!! :o) Now is time for me to have a good sleep after 2 sleepless nights..

Loving Mondays Campaign

Sunday, March 12th, 2006

Ads in StarWorld on their programmes on Mondays caught my attention promoting the series of sitcoms on Mondays’ primetime. Their mission is to change the audience’ (Monday) blue to (Monday) woo hoo. Kind of cute slogan though I do not really like sitcoms :o)

Baby_20 Had a thought over it especially today being a super sunny and hot Monday. Monday blue or Monday woo hoo.. I think it is our perception and attitude towards the day. We determine whether today is a good (woo hoo) or bad (blue) day :o). So.. start to love Mondays!

TGIS!

Friday, March 10th, 2006

Thank God It’s Saturday!! Though I went to bed at the normal hour, I had a hard time to wake up this morning. After pressing my alarm’s snooze button 4 times, I finally woke up :). *lazy me* Envy Vinuk and Chee Leng who were still sleeping but I had no choice but to drag my feet…

Most of the time we complain about our works especially when Monday blue comes. Someone reminded me yesterday, ‘when you are busy means the company still trusts you for the job and more job means that they give additional responsibility and trust upon you. Hence, you shall not complain but instead you have to prove to the company that they do not make a mistake for choosing you for the job.’ Thanks, my friend (you know who you are…)

I think it is time for all of us to give thanks to God for everything that we have and what we are. Complaint is not a problem solver. Be thankful and find solution for our problems :o). Have a good day…

Marching March

Thursday, March 9th, 2006

Crayon_4 While March is marching tiredlessly, I am running to reach the finishing point… Finishing point seems to be out of reach but I still have to give my best in everything :). I have no idea how come I am suddenly so occupied this month. Never ending tasks and meetings that come without giving any advance warning. Tight deadlines one after another. However, life is a matter of balance. Yin and Yang according to the Chinese :). Hence, many tasks have to be balanced with many outings and leisure hihihi… :o). Though I am tired, I am very glad that I can catch up with my friends and get latest updates from them. Hmm… some people may misinterpret ‘updates’ as ‘gossips’ but anyway the main purpose is still the same… to keep in touch and up to date with the current development from different group of friends :o). *diplomatic way to explain gossip session* hihihi…
